‘The Next Great American Time-Killer’ and Other Words of Praise for Trippzy

Based on early reviews, mobile-game players, including many noted travel experts, are in love with Trippzy, calling it innovative and worthwhile.

Trippzy, which is available for download on iOS and Android devices everywhere, is creating a huge buzz in the world of travel. Matador Network dubbed Trippzy “the perfect candidate for the next great American time-killer” in its comprehensive review of the trivia game, which launched in January 2019.

Matador Network spotlighted Trippzy in its Tech + Apps section.

Created by veteran travel journalists and experienced app developers, Trippzy has teamed with several Caribbean countries — including Curaçao, Anguilla, Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, British Virgin Islands, and Nevis — to provide a slew of travel rewards for its players. Discounts toward airfare, free hotel nights, savings on attractions, meal vouchers, and more are available to be won. The most attractive reward is a package to Curaçao valued at more than $5,000, and includes roundtrip airfare for two, a luxury hotel stay, $500 in cash, and VIP experiences.

To earn points that can be redeemed for the prizes, players answer Caribbean-focused trivia questions created by journalists who have experienced the destinations. In its review, Matador Network succinctly pointed out the game’s benefits for travelers seeking a Caribbean getaway: “If you can rack up a few thousand points every day, and play every day on your way to work, in a few months you might have enough to fly somewhere warm. All for learning interesting stuff about a region most people lump into one, big, tropical vacationland.”

Conde Nast Traveler‘s Spanish Edition was effusive with its praise, saying players “will jump for joy to Play Trippzy.” While Conde Nast Traveler compared the excitement of Trippzy to the thrill of winning “Trivial Pursuit”, Matador Network noted that in the digital age, where real-world rewards are rare, Trippzy delivers value others do not. “Now you can win a lot more than a jackpot split 1,300 ways,” it says, “netting yourself a nice island tan for your expert knowledge on the Caribbean.”

Craig Silva, an influencer in the travel industry, wrote on his BigDaddyKreative.ca blog that “Trippzy is gaining steam with travellers and industry pros.”

Highly respected travel writer Johnny Jet named Trippzy his Travel App of the Week on March 18, and Lonely Planet also praised the game in its review. This recent slate of rave reviews comes on top of earlier media reaction during the game’s launch in Toronto.

“Fun and easy to play, Trippzy already feels like the kind of game that could lead to some competitive moments at our house,” says Heather Greenwood Davis, who writes for National Geographic and the Globe & Mail. “The combination of travel trivia, from people who know what they’re talking about, and the chance to win great prizes is bound to keep players engaged. It’s a great venture from trusted Canadian travel stalwarts.”
